This is the 1st post in my blog. I learned this recipe by my (GM) Grand Mother. My hubby like this coconut chutney very much. Coconut chutney is a very easiest and fastest recipe. It will take very less time to prepare and serve. Coconut chutney can serve with idli, Masala Dosa, Mangalore sweet bunns etc…And also with rice items.
Coconut Chutney Recipe

Ingredients
Grated coconut
|
1/2 cup
|
Fried gram dal (putani)
|
2 tsp
|
Green chillies
|
3
|
Jaggery
|
Small piece
|
Garlic
|
1 whole
|
Jeera
|
½ tsp
|
Tamarind
|
A pinch
|
Coriander leaves
|
As per ur taste
|
Ginger
|
Small piece
|
Salt & Water
|
As needed
|
To temper
Oil
|
1 tsp
|
Mustard
|
3/4 tsp
|
jeera
|
¼ tsp
|
Urad dal
|
1 tsp
|
Curry leaves
|
1 sprig
|
1. Place all ingredients Grated coconut, Chilli, Fried gram dal, Jaggery, Ginger, Garlic, Tamarind, Jeera, Salt and little water in a blender, grind it to desired consistency.
2. Transfer to bowl.
3. Temper with the items given under to temper table.
4.Mix well and serve with hot idli /Dosa!!

- Tips :
- You can change number of green chillies based on spiciness.
- If you like tanginess then only add Tamarind otherwise you can skip.
- Always use fresh grated coconut, it will gives juicy texture to your coconut chutney.
