       We can prepare Tomato Rasam in many ways.I have showed one method here.As per our taste we can make little bit changes and make a Rasam tastier.My hubby friend asked him to post a Rasam recipe 😇 . Immediately I tried this one and posted.My GM make a Rasam in different way.I will post that soon. My bro' & Sis like Tomato Rasam very much made by me 😄 . Rasam will always tastes yummy with white rice. 

Rasam powder Ingredients:
Red chilly - 6 to 7
Coriander seeds - 1 1/2 tsp
Jeera - 1 tsp
Fenugreek/ methi seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 spring
Other ingredients :
Toor dal - 1 cup 
Tomato - 2 chopped
Green chilly - 3 sliced 
Coriander leaves  - 3 spring

To temper :
Mustard seeds  - 1 tsp
Red chilly - 1-2
Curry leaves - 1 spring
Asafoetida/ Hing  - 1 / 4 tsp

Method :
1. Take a kadai , add Red chilly , Coriander seeds , Fenugreek seeds, jeera ,Curry leaves one by one and make dry roast.

2. Transfer to jar , make it a medium fine powder.
 3. In a kadai add cooked and mashed Toor dal ( Toor dal+turmeric powder+oil ) . Once after start boiling add sliced green chilly & tomato .

4. Add Powdered Jaggery , and also Tamarind extract.

5. Add salt , prepared powder and mix well.  Let it for boil for few minutes. Switch off the flame.

6. Take a Tadka Pan , add items given under to temper ( broken red chillies while adding.) And add it to a Rasam.
7. Add Coriander leaves lastly. Mix well.
Serve hot with cooked rice, Mango pickle.



Tips :
  • While you roast items for a Rasam powder , you can fry it separately. 
  • Fry Fenugreek seeds well, otherwise it will remove little bitterness. 
  • Make a Rasam powder  medium fine not so smooth .
  • Change quantity as per spiciness of red chilly.
  • You can also store Rasam powder to save time .






RAVA / SOOJI UPMA

Rava / semolina Upma one of the easiest recipe in Indian breakfast recipe. I don't like Upma much, but when I have less time ⏰to prepare breakfast or had no plan in previous day, most of the times i prefer Rava Upma . This Rava Upma recipe dedicated to all Upma lover's ☺ .


Recipe Cuisine : Indian l Recipe Category : Breakfast 
Prep time : 15 mins l Cook time : 15 mins l Serves : 2

Ingredients :
Rava / Sooji                      1 cup
Water                                  2& 1/4 cup *
Oil                                        2 tsp
Green chilly                       3  chopped
Onion                                  1 sliced
Tomato                               1 chopped
Coriander leaves                2-3 spring                            
Ground nut                           2 tsp
Salt                                       As required 
Sugar                                   1/4 tsp 

To Temper :
Oil                                        1 tsp
Mustard seeds                  3/ 4 tsp
Jeera                                   1/2 tsp
Urad dal                              1 tsp
Channel dal                        1 tsp
Curry leaves                       1 spring

Method :
  1. Heat a kadai and add oil fry Rava in a medium flame until a roasted smell of rava comes out. Don't let it to be brown and keep aside.                                                                         
  2. In a kadai , use same or an add items given under 'to temper'   & add ground nuts , chopped green  chillies , sliced onions , chopped tomatoes fry wel

3.Add rava / Sooji and mix well.

4.Add hot water , Salt As per your taste. Let it for boil a few minutes.

5.Once it done add chopped Coriander leaves and a pinch of sugar & mix properly.

Tips :-
  • You can add a little bit of Grated coconut to richness of Upma.
  • Tomato and Sugar optional. 
  • You can change water  quantity as per your Upma consistency. 
  • In 3rd step you can add water & salt first ,after boiling water add rava .
  • Serve with chutney pudi , papad, pickle. 


      

COCONUT CHUTNEY /TENGINA KAYI CHUTNEY

Hi,
This is the 1st post in my blog. I learned this recipe by my (GM) Grand Mother. My hubby like this coconut chutney very much. Coconut chutney is a very easiest and fastest recipe. It will take very less time to prepare and serve. Coconut chutney can serve with idli,  Masala Dosa, Mangalore sweet bunns etc…And also with rice items.


Coconut Chutney Recipe

Recipe Cuisine: Indian |  Recipe Category: Side dish l Prep Time: 15 mins   
 |  Cook time: 2 mins    |  Serves: 3

Ingredients



Grated coconut
 1/2 cup 
Fried gram dal (putani)
 2 tsp 
Green chillies
 3
Jaggery
Small piece
Garlic
1 whole
Jeera
½ tsp
Tamarind
A pinch
Coriander leaves
As per ur taste
Ginger
Small piece
Salt & Water
 As needed 


To temper

Oil
1 tsp
Mustard
3/4 tsp
jeera
¼ tsp
Urad dal
1 tsp
Curry leaves
1 sprig



Method

1.   Place all ingredients Grated coconut, Chilli, Fried gram dal, Jaggery, Ginger, Garlic, Tamarind, Jeera, Salt and little water in a blender, grind it to desired consistency.
2. Transfer to bowl.
3. Temper with the items given under to temper table.















4.Mix well and serve with hot idli /Dosa!!

















  • Tips :
  1. You can change number of green chillies based on spiciness. 
  2. If you like tanginess then only add Tamarind otherwise you can skip.
  3. Always use fresh grated coconut, it will gives juicy texture to your coconut chutney.
